Led by nationally recognized plastic surgeon Dr. Joseph F. Capella, our practice specializes in plastic surgery after weight loss and body contouring.

This unique position combines true perioperative nursing 2–3 days per week with office-based plastic surgery nursing and patient care on non-surgical days. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care while recognizing, prioritizing and responding to patient needs in coordination with the physician and surgical team.

What You'll Do

  • Office-Based Nursing: See patients on non-surgical days, assist with consultations and follow-up visits, provide patient education and support continuity throughout the surgical experience.
  • Clinical Photography: Take standardized pre- and post-operative patient photographs, ensure proper positioning and consistency, and accurately upload and maintain images within the appropriate patient record and practice systems.
  • Patient Education: Provide clear pre- and post-operative education in person and by phone and reinforce physician-directed care plans.
  • Patient Experience: Provide warm, attentive and highly personalized care before and after surgery.
  • Clinical Prioritization: Recognize patient needs, prioritize appropriately and escalate clinical concerns to Dr. Capella, our PA or anesthesia team as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow QUAD A standards and established OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, medication-safety and surgical-safety protocols.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate perioperative and office-based clinical documentation.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate closely with Dr. Capella, our PA, anesthesia providers and surgical team.
  • Aesthetic Services: Experience with aesthetic injectables is preferred and may provide opportunities to participate in aesthetic services based on experience and scope.
  • Social Media Support: Assist with practice content when appropriate, help identify educational or patient-experience content opportunities, and be comfortable participating in photos, videos, or other social media content.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 2+ years of perioperative, OR, PACU or ambulatory surgery experience preferred.
  • RN License: Current New Jersey Registered Nurse license required.

  • Team-Oriented: Collaborative, dependable and comfortable working within a close-knit surgical team.
  • Growth-Minded: Interested in learning, expanding skills and growing with the practice.
